Well, I’ll start where i stopped last night. Lyon. I’m in the TGV going to Nice, i’m stopping at Saint Raphael. First thing, it’s an old TGV. You know, the first ones, the ones from 1981, that were once orange and that they renovated. But once thing not cool with those trains is that even tho they renovated them, they kept the very little space for the legs as it was. And as I was on the window side, I was hoping that there wouldn’t be anybody next to me, but no. A guy came and sat down. So, I didn’t have space for my legs. Wich was kinda uncomfortable. And they did their ad for the TGV where this guy is like in his appartment or something…
The train left Lyon with 10 minutes late (well, the SNCF wouldn’t be the SNCF if they were on time). The beginning of the end was a little later, after the stop at Valence TGV. There was a young couple with a baby. This f*cking baby wouldn’t stop crying. It kept crying all the way until Marseille, where the parents have been able to get off the train a little time to make the baby breath fresh air (well, 35°C air). And then, we left Marseille with our 10 minutes late. From then, it’s a classic train line, so we couldn’t go faster than 160, but only 15 minutes after the train started from Marseille, we really slowed down and the end was there. The baby was still crying, I was stuck between the window and the other guy, and the train was going at 10 km an hour. I couldn’t stand it more, and so I went to the restaurant-car. There, I bought a bottle of Perrier and a Twix, which made 3,90 €. I didn’t had money, so I had to add some M&M’s to get over the 5 € limit to use the credit card. Knowing that the baby was still crying in my car, I stayed there to eat and drink, and then just as we were in a tunnel, the train stopped. We moved again after 10 minutes (still not faster than 10 km/h) to stop a few minutes later. And for a full hour, that was that. We progressed of a few meters and stop again. That was between La Ciotat and St Cyr s/ Mer, because the rails were deformed due to the heat. That made me arrive a full hour late at the Saint Raphael station. So, I had left Rennes at 9:25 am and I arrived at SR at 8:20 pm. Eleven hours ! That’s too much !
So, the three days after that, I was at my grand-parents’ and the Wednesday and the Thursday I went to the beach. I even managed to tan without getting any sunburn. Couldn’t go on Tuesday, the sea being very dirty because of the bad weather and the waves bringing lots of garbage.
On Wednesday and Thursday night, I watched the stars. The sky was darker than it is here in Rennes, so I could see the stars better, and I got to see six shooting stars (three each night), which never happened before, I always missed them.
And I came back to Rennes on Friday, but this time with my mother and my two sisters. Remind me of never having to change of train station in Paris with the three of them. They kept beeing slow, and we almost missed our TGV to Rennes at Montparnasse.
Anyway, I’m finally home, it’s all that matters. The only problem is my mother pushing me to quickly unpack the remaining cardboard boxes
Oh, and I ordered a new fan for Mistral, to put on the front. The problem is that I have to cut the front panel. It has been difficult to choose which shape I’d do for the hole, but I finally chose the Riven symbol. The one with the pentagon and the five branchs star with the number five in the middle. I hope it won’t be too difficult to do that… Answer soon…
